Vestas – Chennai, Tamil Nadu – An Exciting Opportunity with the Production & Logistics team in the capacity of an Operational Buyer Production Business Unit Production & Logistics Timely releasing of P-orders as per the MRP recommendation and ensure on time delivery of materials, Maintain Supplier Delivery Accuracy and maintain inventory targets Responsibilities: Updating the suppliers with forecasts and plan to ensure timely delivery. Updation of core data and vendor details in Infor XA and timely. releasing of POs as per MRP recommendations. Overdue monitoring and follow-up for purchase items. Working with supplier to reduce NCRs and communicate ECO changes. Ensuring MSDS are supplied along with Chemicals / Oils / Lubricants. Ensuring blacklisted chemicals are not procured. Ensuring adherence of safety procedures while engaging external contractors for any work inside Vestas premises. Timely procurement of miscellaneous items. Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or its equivalent. At least 5 to 7 years experience in Purchase. Knowledge and hands on experience in using ERP systems. Know the value chain and the business model. Planning, coordinating and organizing skills. Must be willing to work in shifts. Competencies: Ability to prioritise – also under pressure. In-depth knowledge of sourcing, transportation and excellence initiatives. Further in depth understanding of the Vestas Value Chain.
