General Motors – Pune, Maharashtra – I. Primary Purpose of the job & Major Expected results: To ensure outgoing quality of engines shipped to customer through adequate controls in engine assembly and testing manufacturing process. II. Job Responsibilities: Safety : Conduct Safety Observation Tour on a periodic basis , compliance to all applicable safety requirements and ensure safe operating practices are followed at work place . Address all employee safety concerns with priority. People : Identify training need for Assembly quality team and ensure trainings are imparted per plan with HR support . Train hourly & salaried employees on Quality System , ensure effectiveness of the training and meet training targets Quality : 1) – Deploy and maintain all PT Global Assembly and Testing Quality Procedures in the Plant and initiate counter measure in case of any non compliance ( e.g. Critical to Quality parameters , Torque control , Hot test , Cold Test Alarm and escalation process , Feedback and Feed forward process , Traceability etc – Drive Built in Quality culture and Support disciplined problem solving approach on the shop floor for quality issues. – Track all external quality issues through effective utilisation of Fast Response Tracking System – Conduct Layered audit on a periodic basis and ensure countermeasures are in place – Interact closely with Resident Quality Engineer for any customer quality issues and resove the issues with sense of urgency within reasonable time including containment to protect the customer – Ensure quality readiness for all new programs , build issues are resolved before start of regular production and support Production Part Approval Process – Develop and tracking of Business Plan Deployment boards at plant level with support of plant quality manager – Quality Review Meeting with leadership and track the action items related to Assembly – Support and approve change management process through Production Trial Run Responsiveness : Ensure counter measures are implemented and verified within reasonable time which is required for maintaining the quality systems effectively in Assembly line Cost : Develop necessary budget required for Assembly team , track the expenses on periodic basis and ensure expenses are within approved budget Environment: Ensure compliance with all applicable environment procedures ( ISO 14001 EMS ) in Assembly Quality team Qualifications III. Knowledge & Skills : Knowledge- -Basic knowledge of PT manufacturing process like Machining , Assembly and testing -Knowledge of International quality standards ( e.g. ISO 9001 , ISO 14001 ) -Knowledge of various quality procedures applicable in PT Skills- -Ability to work with cross functional team -Strong Interpersonal skill -Quality mind set Self starter IV. Educational Qualification & Experience: Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferably Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in implementing the quality systems in any PT Assembly plant…. – Permanent – Full-time
