The person will be responsible for the development of software programming tools for Xilinx’s All Programmable SoC. In this software engineering position, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of eclipse plug-ins (or plug-ins for other SW IDEs) for a new class of software-centric design and development tools for All Programmable SoCs. Xilinx SDK Integrated Development Environment (IDE) supports system and software design, development and verification for Xilinx devices with embedded processors and All Programmable SoCs. As part of the SDK group, this developer will become a member of a high performance, fast moving software R&D team. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for continuously seeking methods to improve the capabilities of the tools in terms of new features that provide significant value to customers and are easy-to-use . A proven track record on designing, developing and verifying Eclipse plug-ins or plug-ins for other commonly used IDE is essential The candidate must have excellent inter-personal and communication skills that will enable him/her to interact with internal/external customers, Silicon architecture teams and the engineering development team.As part of the job, he needs to work with teams in different geographical areas to ensure that the requirements are well understood and implemented Qualifications A qualified candidate must have a Bachelors/ Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with 10 years of commercial software development experience, including significant experience (4 or more years) in using C /JAVA as the development language for major project s. Candidates must possess industrial experience plug-in development for Eclipse/ CDT (or other IDEs) for embedded processor software development, creating Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) applications and plugins. In addition, desirable experience include: experience using EDA tools, especially FPGA design tools; experience designing embedded software tools; experience with embedded software debug, trace and profiling tools; experience with any of the following software development tools: C/C , TCL, RTOS, revision control; or knowledge about the following technologies: electronic system level (ESL) design and verification, processor architecture and FPGA. The candidate must also be effective in written and verbal communication, and have a successful track record working in a team environment, contributing to a range of projects in addition to areas of focus.
