Ericsson – Noida, Uttar Pradesh – Req ID: 111529 Job Description for Engineer 1 Job Title Engineer Shift Schedule US day hours (Indian Night Hours) 2 Job Description This position is responsible for Test and Turn up activities for Entrance, IMT and Ethernet circuits. Manages/coordinates each circuit to install status ensuring it is capable of handling customer and network traffic. Provide all necessary information to internal departments and/or Vendors and works with them to resolve any issues Receive, analyze, monitor and resolve issues in a timely basis with minimal guidance from higher level technicians or supervisor. 3 Roles and Responsibilities Ability to establish end to end continuity and perform required testing using the appropriate system on entrance and access circuits after process and technical. Ability to direct trouble resolution activities with internal technicians and external vendors. Ability to perform mapping functions on SONET/SDH MUXes, Routers. Remove technical and process obstacles, for the technicians, that impede the success of the circuit install process Performs functions with little or no supervision Troubleshoot issues on the network with minimum guidance post training. Proficient in using all systems required to perform their function such as SMS/FMS/LASSIE/FACTS/TBS and other standalone systems as necessary 4 Experience and Academic Qualification Provisioning & Testing experience of 2-3 years (can be with other telcos) MS Office i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word Knowledge of SONET/ SDH technologies , network and elements Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, proxy servers, VPN concentrators, traffic analyzers. Broad overview of IP technologies. Good acquaintance with TCP / IP protocols and networks Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting of switching and routing protocols. Good understanding on IP addressing Experience on Troubleshooting Layer-2 and Layer-3 connectivity issues. Knowledge of system requirements and their interface Excellent communication skills- oral and written Flexible to work in 24×7 mode when needed Preferred: Working knowledge of support systems required for Provisioning and Network Design of Entrance circuits. IP Certifications on Juniper and/or Cisco(CCNA). Ability to work under strong pressure related to scale of business impact Knowledge of telco practices, procedures and current technology.
